What is the Edward Ramsdale Scholarship Fund?

The Edward Ramsdale Scholarship Fund was created in 1997 with the intent of encouraging Troy High School students to continue their education beyond high school.

The scholarship money is to be used to assist in educational expenses incurred through the pursuit of a higher education.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

Students attending Troy High School should apply in the spring of their senior year.  To receive a full share of the scholarship, students need to attend Troy Junior Senior High School continuously from grade 8-12. Partial scholarships are awarded to students who have not attended school in Troy for the required five years. 

Where can the scholarship be used?

The scholarship can be used at any institution of higher learning or vocational school that is fully accredited and recognized by the US Department of Education. 

What can the scholarship money be used for?

Scholarship money received through the Edward Ramsdale scholarship fund may only be used for the student’s tuition, fees, room, board, books or other direct expenses pertaining to the student’s education.

•     Copy of current class schedule

Edward Ramsdale Application to Request Previously Awarded Funds

Purpose

The purpose of the continuing education application is to give students who did not use their

Ramsdale Scholarship within the required 2 years the opportunity to reapply for the funds.

Qualifications

Troy High School graduates must meet the following qualifications to receive funds:

•     Applied for and awarded the Edward Ramsdale Scholarship during their senior year.
  •     Complete the application for Continuing Education
  •     Provide appropriate documentation.

     

     

    Type of Request

    Your application will require you to choose which type of request you are making. If you are currently attending or planning to attend an accredited institution, you will need to request “Previously Awarded” funds.  If you have completed a program from a non-accredited institution, you will need to request “Reimbursement”. 

     

     

    Application

    To apply, please submit a formal letter of request that includes the following information:

  •     Your name and year of graduation
  •     Why you were unable to use the funds when they were awarded
  •     Your current plans and why you need the scholarship money
  •     All supplemental information

    Please include the following information in your application for continuing education funds:

  •     Copy of current enrollment at an accredited institution
  •     Copy of current class schedule
  •     Copy of current tuition bill

    Please note that funds will be sent directly to the educational institution.
